Copycat and the Song in my Head

copycat prompt dailyThe moment I saw copycat was today’s daily prompt word, the song was in my head. The verse wasn’t right but that didn’t make a difference as it looped repetitively. In fact the jumbled verse was so persistent that I could no longer remember the actual words.

I’m wondering if I might be the only one thinking of Tom Jones and his song “What’s New Pussycat.” Perhaps only my generation would be familiar with the original version popular so long ago. I’d like to think that more than a few youts have sung this jovially while mimicking someone or something; Mr Jones is iconic after all.

It took more than a few attempts when searching, pulling up some interesting lyric parodies which will remain in the archives; you’re welcome.

I’ll share the video of the original Tom Jones song to save your sanity if you have: “What’s New Copycat” playing endlessly in your mind as well.

Copycat

Does this happen to you, do words or conversations trigger music to run in the background of your thoughts? Have you ever broken out into song with jumbled lyrics you’ve ad libbed along the way? Perhaps I’m just a goofball who enjoys adding a little levity to the moment whenever appropriate or just annoying enough to get under the skin of those listening.
