I used to blog with careless abandon, writing about whatever came to mind. Grammar and careful proof-reading might not have been in the forefront. In time, funny memes popped up pointing out the grammar errors of others. I became self-aware and rereading everything for the misused there, their, they’re. There’s more that was be worse like its vs it’s.
I started worrying about my own writing, secretly saving the examples as reference. Over time I have improved both in my writing style and topics. What do you do to avoid the grammar keepers of the internet that sic themselves on you?
Over time I’ve learned to not use ellipses and to not double space between sentences. My blog is slowing improving, typos be damned.
When in doubt I will use grammarly to help work out which version will be correct. Their version of grammar works, they’re doing their best over there to help you too.

For me, judgement on this planet will not end. Until we get to heaven, we will not be free of this evil. The only thing we can do is learn to develop self-esteem to say “Thats not me, I won’t be labeled that way” and then give that same confidence and positive message to those around us.
Well said, sending out the message to others that being different is wonderful vs embarrassing sounds wonderful. I’m still working on being better about accepting others and their individuality, I’m a work in progress as well.. At times like these I think of Michael Jackson’s message in his song: “Man in the Mirror.”
We are contemporaries, and I am the bane of my teenage daughter’s existence because I care not what people think of me. You and I sound like kindred spirits when it comes to protecting ourselves and preventing problems, even if in doing so we don’t look “cool.”
