Our family typically used technique we used with pork and it cooked for hours! When we discovered the Instant Pot, we were smitten.<\/h4>\n<p>While researching I found FlavorRD&#8217;s very versatile recipe, which I&#8217;ve included in <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/bodynsoil.com\/blog\/2016\/02\/21-instant-pot-recipes-to-try\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">21 Instant Pot recipes to Wow your family<\/a><\/strong>. Wanting to use a family favorite first; <a href=\"https:\/\/bodynsoil.com\/blog\/2016\/03\/homemade-diy-barbecue-sauce\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">our BBQ<\/a> sauce preps up in 5 to10 minutes, feel free to use your family favorite as well.<\/p>\n<p>The best part of the cooking process is that once the timer is set on the Instant Pot you can sit back and relax.<\/p>\n\n<p><!--WPRM Recipe 34543-->\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe\">\n\t<h2 class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-name\">Shredded Chicken in the Instant Pot<\/h2>\n\t<img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" height=\"150\" width=\"150\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-image\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/bodynsoil.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/20160219_193101.jpg?resize=150%2C150&#038;ssl=1\"\/>\t<p class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-summary\">\n\t\tThis is the basic cooking directions for chicken in the instant pot. Use these cooking instructions and your choice of sauce to create your own family favorite. Skip the sauce when using frozen chicken as the cooking fluid should be discarded after cooking. Mix your favorite sauce in after the chicken is cooked.\t<\/p>\n\t<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-equipment\">\n\t\t<ul><li>Instant Pot<\/li><\/ul>\t<\/div>\n\t<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-ingredients\">\n\t\t<ul><li>2 lbs chicken breast (thawed or frozen)<\/li><li>1\/4 cup of water<\/li><li>3\/4 cup of BBQ recipe sauce or your personal favorite<\/li><\/ul>\t<\/div>\n\t<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-instructions\">\n\t\t<ol><li><p><strong>Using homemade sauce<\/strong><\/p><p>Use the saute feature to precook any vegetables or prepare the sauce. Prepare the BBQ sauce, place the chicken in the instant pot. Immerse chicken in prepared BBQ sauce, use a little water to cover if needed. Press cancel once the precooking is done.<\/p><\/li><li><p><strong>Using prepared sauce or flavor<\/strong><\/p><p>Use approximately 1\/4 to 1\/2 cup of water, add the chicken to the Instant Pot, then add 3\/4 cup of your favorite sauce or spice combo.<\/p><\/li><li><p><strong>Cooking the Chicken<\/strong><\/p><p>Once all ingredients are in the Instant Pot, use the poultry setting and adjust time to 25 minutes. We&#8217;ve used the cooked chicken for a few things at this point. This whips up fast, cooks in twenty minutes.
