{"id":1688,"date":"2010-12-01T15:29:00","date_gmt":"2010-12-01T15:29:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bodynsoil.com\/blog\/?p=1688"},"modified":"2014-11-28T08:26:17","modified_gmt":"2014-11-28T13:26:17","slug":"the-future-is-now-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bodynsoil.com\/blog\/2010\/12\/the-future-is-now-2\/","title":{"rendered":"The Future Starts Now"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3 class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\">The Future Starts Now<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Saving for the future, you&#8217;ve heard it since you were a small child, what are you doing for your future?<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0 The general scuttlebutt is that you should save as much as you can when you are younger to get your dollar working for you early in order to capitalize on compounding interest.\u00a0 That is wonderful on paper but when the younger generation is fresh out of the gate old age seems really far off and the bills always outpace income, the end result is that most people have to wait to work on their future retirement.\u00a0\u00a0 <strong>It is harder for the younger generation to find work, or keep their heads above water, so what should you do?<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><a style=\"clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;\" href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/_sVKcBs4vE78\/S6Vvg483BJI\/AAAAAAAAArY\/MmNlKZn8mPQ\/s1600\/CIMG4895.JPG\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/_sVKcBs4vE78\/S6Vvg483BJI\/AAAAAAAAArY\/MmNlKZn8mPQ\/s320\/CIMG4895.JPG?resize=320%2C240\" alt=\"\" width=\"320\" height=\"240\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/h3>\n<p>I would suggest starting small then build from there.\u00a0 Start putting away $10.00 a week, do it through auto withdrawal, you will never notice that amount missing, each year increase it by half of any pay increase you get and soon you will be well on your way.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #993300;\"><strong>Making small changes applies to financial fitness but it applies to your physical fitness as well, how, let me explain.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>When we are young it seems that the present is where it is at, worrying about the future is for later, when it gets here.\u00a0\u00a0 That theory works while in your 20\u2019s and into the 30\u2019s but suddenly reality sets in when you realize that youth is falling to the wayside, 40 is coming sooner than expected and those carefree days of the past are gone by.\u00a0 A run to the mailbox exhausts you; the mirror shows the results of the carefree eating style in the form of added weight.\u00a0 Your diet of processed foods and lack of exercise has left your skin blotchy, hair limp, a fully rounded belly and we won\u2019t mention the cottage cheese like droopy derriere you have going on.\u00a0 Those fun flirty vacations wearing a bikini, remember those, now you wouldn\u2019t be caught dead in anything less than sweats and a tee-shirt.\u00a0\u00a0 At one time you loved having chicken wings as appetizers but now you have bat wings on your arms that flap, what is a person to do?<\/p>\n<p>A full on fitness and health routine can seem daunting and overpowering; diets are limited by time, are dreary and most people quit after a short period of time.\u00a0 Studies show weight lost by extreme diets is regained plus more once the diet is over.\u00a0 Why diet, instead you can make some lifestyle changes that will repay you over time, a great way to save towards your future.\u00a0 Start small and work your way up to eating healthier, just as mentioned earlier with your financial fitness.<\/p>\n<p><strong>When it comes to nutrition<\/strong>, which is reported to be 90% of the fitness equation, make one change today that will improve your tomorrow, work on that change until it becomes habit then make another change, repeat.\u00a0\u00a0 Some of the things you can change would be:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Cutting out sugary drinks<\/li>\n<li>Removing processed foods from your daily intake<\/li>\n<li>Have a healthy breakfast every day<\/li>\n<li>Increase your fiber and water intake<\/li>\n<li>Don\u2019t snack after dinner<\/li>\n<li>Make healthy snacks available like cut veggies, nuts and whole fruit<\/li>\n<li>Cooking more at home without being afraid to peel veggies and trying new things, clean eating<\/li>\n<li>Take a few minutes to plan your meals for the week, you will save money at the market and will be better able to stay on track.<\/li>\n<li>Shop the outer perimeter of the store as all the processed foods are on the interior aisles.<\/li>\n<li>Make your lunch and mid day snacks the day before, not eating out every day is a huge money and calorie saver<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Regarding Fitness:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Find something that you like which will keep you fit and active as much as possible, it can be a volleyball league or basketball.
