This is a pumpkin recipe but don&#8217;t be that fussy if you can&#8217;t find pumpkin you certainly can substitute winter squash or mashed sweet potato. I don&#8217;t keep pumpkin pie spice on hand as making my own is quick and easy thing to do.<\/p>\n<p><!--WPRM Recipe 34611--><\/p>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe\">\n<h2 class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-name\">Whole Wheat Pumpkin Pancakes<\/h2>\n<p>\t<img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" height=\"135\" width=\"150\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-image\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/bodynsoil.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/pancake.jpg?resize=150%2C135&#038;ssl=1\"\/>\t<\/p>\n<p class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-summary\">\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-equipment\">\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-ingredients\">\n<ul>\n<li>First mix together dry ingredients:<\/li>\n<li>2 cup whole wheat cake flour<\/li>\n<li>6 tsp. baking powder<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp. salt<\/li>\n<li>3 Tbsp dark brown sugar<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 cup chopped walnuts<\/li>\n<li>2 1\/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice (or 1 tsp cinnamon (.5 tsp ginger,)<\/li>\n<li>.25 ground cloves (.25 tsp allspice))<\/li>\n<li>In a separate bowl mix together:<\/li>\n<li>1 1\/2 cups milk (I used almond milk)<\/li>\n<li>1 cup pumpkin (canned pie filling or fresh cooked and pureed)<\/li>\n<li>1 beaten egg<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp vanilla extract<\/li>\n<li>1 Tbsp vegetable oil (I used walnut oil)<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-instructions\">\n<ol>\n<li>Add the pumpkin mixture to the dry ingredients, stir to combine.<\/li>\n<li>Heat a lightly oiled griddle or frying pan on medium heat.
