Shakeology: Our first few days with a new vitamin shake<\/h3>\n

My dearest husband has been using Shakeology, a meal replacement protein nutrient vitamin shake, that is reported to: boost energy, improve digestion, stop cravings, lose weight, works like a multi vitamin, and transforms your health.<\/p>\n

Updated for 2016, We’ve used this nutrient mix since 2009 and still loving it. (He has been using this product for a few months now and really likes it)<\/del>, agreeing that it has helped him in many of the ways mentioned. In 2009, decided to give the product a try after having some gastric distress and had positive results myself.\u00a0 I had tried the product, when it first arrived, liked it but it was foreign to me and not part of my daily routine so I passed over it for foods in my comfort zone.\u00a0 We’ve both had these shakes daily and thought I might share my story as this process goes on.<\/p>\n

The vitamin shake mix has been in use since 2009, as it’s a good source of nutrition for my husband due to his hectic schedule.\u00a0 Breakfast for him happened after the noon hour and consisted of a chocolate milk and something that catches his eye at the convenience store.\u00a0 Over time he had noticed his stamina going down and his waistline going up, he asked me to rework his nutrition.\u00a0 He and I brainstormed a few things to get him to eat before noon each day, nothing he tried appealed to him which meant he wasn’t being consistent.\u00a0 I mentioned Shakeology as a product that a lot of people have had success with, he decided to try the product and liked the taste and nutritional make up.<\/p>\n

A few months after my husband started up with the new shake product, we went on a trip to Texas to visit family and tour around their area. Our eating patterns were really off as we were mostly on a driving tour, eating at restaurants as we traveled around Texas. Not only was our eating off, so was our water intake, as a result by the third day my digestion just came to a grinding halt.\u00a0 This is a situation nobody wants to be in during a vacation, at this point I tried to turn things around naturally with little success.<\/p>\n

We enjoyed the remaining vacation with me in a bit of discomfort and a distended belly.\u00a0 As soon as we arrived back home I refocused my energy back towards hydration, fiber, and patience with little resolution. On the fourth day my husband casually mentioned trying Shakeology, at this point I would try anything.<\/p>\n

Day one on the shake and I am digging the taste and consistency, I am also starting to get that rumble in the belly I had been looking for. The second day started with the same shake in the morning, then my normal nutrition for the remaining part of the day. I know my body fairly well and knew that this was going to work for me and it did. Over the course of the second day my body started eliminating all the built up waste.\u00a0 Sorry for any visual this creates for you but it is part of my story.\u00a0 My stomach had significant shrinkage by the end of the second day, by the third day my weight had gone down my almost 5 pounds, I really had been full of it as I had been told in the past.<\/p>\n

I continued on with the vitamin shake and workout schedule, after a full week on this product my weight dropped a total of eight+ pounds and I was impressed.\u00a0 My clothes are fitting better than they have in months, I feel great at this weight, my skin was glowing and I had lots of energy. \u00a0 Tomorrow will be the end of my second week using Shakeology, my weight has stabilized at this new lower amount and I am now hooked on this product.\u00a0 Each morning we will blend our shake for the day, what isn’t consumed goes back in the fridge for a quick afternoon pick me up when we tend to be too busy to get something healthy together, I see this as the beginning of a very happy relationship.<\/p>\n

2016 update:<\/p>\n

Each morning we now blended a double batch of: Shakeology, frozen fruit, yogurt and enough almond milk to thin the shake to our liking.\u00a0 We both love the taste and love how easy it is to make.
