Who doesn&#8217;t like a nice fresh homemade bowl of soup, if it is too hot to serve, I like to put spinach in the bowl first and the hot soup over to steam it.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p> <!--WPRM Recipe 34631--><\/p>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe\">\n<h2 class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-name\">Chicken and Vegetable Soup<\/h2>\n<p>\t<img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-image\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/bodynsoil.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/chknvegsoup.jpg?w=1140&#038;ssl=1\"\/>\t<\/p>\n<p class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-summary\">\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-ingredients\">\n<ul>\n<li>4 1\/2 cups organic chicken broth<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 cup chopped onion<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 cup chopped celery<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 cup chopped carrot<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 cup chopped brocolli (asparagus etc.)<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 tsp dried crushed basil<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 tsp dried crushed oregano<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 cup cooked steel cut oats<\/li>\n<li>2 cups cubed cooked chicken or turkey<\/li>\n<li>1 16 oz can tomato (cut up or 2 cups fresh cut up tomato)<\/li>\n<li>1 bay leaf<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-instructions\">\n<ol>\n<li>In a large saucepan bring the broth, steel cut oats, onion and uncooked vegetables with the basil, oregano and bay leave to a boil, reduce heat and simmer, covered, for 6 to 8 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Stir in cooked and cubed chicken\/turkey, precooked vegetables and cut up tomatoes and heat through.<\/li>\n<li>Rinse and chop spinach and place approximately 1\/2 cup in the bottom of each bowl.<\/li>\n<li>Ladle soup over the spinach and serve.<\/li>\n<\/ol><\/div>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-notes\">\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--End WPRM Recipe--> <\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Chicken soup with Vegetables Winter is almost upon us and with that a nice homemade bowl of\u00a0 soup will certainly cure what ails you.
