There are four large paned windows with double hungs on each side.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 First the curtains came down to be washed and hung outside to air dry.\u00a0 The entire frame was washed the window glass was next, before bed I wanted to put down two coats of finish. After the clean up and prep work was done I put down the first coat then had to wait for it to dry so we decided to walk the dog.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 375px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/3.bp.blogspot.com\/_sVKcBs4vE78\/SqMMBLBFeUI\/AAAAAAAAAbI\/ssBV-tQNHwU\/s320\/stonestepa2.jpg?resize=365%2C312\" alt=\"Mother's project can wait while I play in the woods\" width=\"365\" height=\"312\" border=\"0\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Mother&#8217;s project can wait while I play in the woods<\/p><\/div>\n<p>They are logging in the woods around my mother&#8217;s home, the same woods I played in as a child.\u00a0 We walked up the road to the access road and turned in, it was decided to keep the dog on leash for the whole walk.\u00a0 At one time the area was a marsh but the cedar trees grew in and put all that ground water to good use the marsh dried out.\u00a0 As a child the trees were about 15 ft tall and so dense that you could not walk through them.\u00a0 I would follow the trails the small animals made during their daily treks when one day I came upon the stone steps.\u00a0 The area is loaded with glacial rocks and this one rock had been cut so that someone could use the slab of stone to support a bridge or structure.\u00a0 For some reason this one stone was abandoned and sits to this day just out of site in the forest behind her home.\u00a0 It is now open but as a child this was surrounded by dense cedars and it was a destination when playing in the woods, that is until you get creeped out.<\/p>\n<p>Later on in the afternoon we went on an intense little hike dodging downed trees over very uneven terrain.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A weekend at Mother&#8217;s, taking a project break We have a busy weekend planned and spent the first part finishing a window project my mother had started.\u00a0\u00a0 The varnish had aged and was lifting in&hellip;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":8,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"jetpack_post_was_ever_published":false,"_jetpack_newsletter_access":"","_jetpack_dont_email_post_to_subs":false,"_jetpack_newsletter_tier_id":0,"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paywalled_content":false,"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[649],"tags":[871,870,869],"class_list":["post-1533","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-news","tag-chores","tag-helping-others","tag-projects"],"jetpack_featured_media_url":"","jetpack_shortlink":"https:\/\/wp.me\/p1qEFP-oJ","jetpack_likes_enabled":true,"jetpack-related-posts":[{"id":10584,"url":"https:\/\/bodynsoil.com\/blog\/2016\/11\/grandmas-house-smells-welcoming\/","url_meta":{"origin":1533,"position":0},"title":"Grandma&#8217;s House Smells Welcoming","author":"Bodynsoil","date":"November 22, 2016","format":false,"excerpt":"I love the smells that envelop you within your first steps into the house.
