Looking for options, I set out to make my own so you can use your favorite cheese blend. We always had Velveeta cheese in our house. A fan of the cheese I was not, my family ate the plastic-like cheese by the slice.<\/p>\n<p>There always was a box of Velveeta in the refrigerator of my childhood home. One holiday we had the urge for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bettycrocker.com\/recipes\/two-ingredient-slow-cooker-queso-dip\/0a2b1b21-4767-4a7f-b589-a0ad45088767\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">two ingredient Queso<\/a>, because our family made in the past as it&#8217;s so fast. After I made it I realized that my memory of this dish was better as this microwaved cheese blended with salsa was rather blah.<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 330px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/upload.wikimedia.org\/wikipedia\/commons\/thumb\/6\/69\/Velveeta_Cheese.JPG\/500px-Velveeta_Cheese.JPG\" alt=\"DIY Velveeta\" width=\"320\" height=\"158\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Image Via: Mental Floss<\/p><\/div>\n<p>A search through Google and I was able to find a recipe that replaces the chemical filled highly processed cheese.<\/p>\n<p>You can make your own DIY Velveeta and toss the processed version!<\/p>\n<p>Of course the best part of this recipe is that you can pick and choose your cheese based on the recipe and taste of your guests.<\/p>\n<p>The technique is simple:<\/p>\n<p><!--WPRM Recipe 34506--><\/p>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe\">\n<h2 class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-name\">Make your Own DIY Velveeta Cheese<\/h2>\n<p class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-summary\">\n\t\tMake your Own DIY Velveeta Cheese Author: Bodynsoil Prep time: 10 mins Total time: 10 mins Serves: 16 oz\t<\/p>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-ingredients\">\n<ul>\n<li>1 cup Boiling Water<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 ounce Powdered Unflavored Gelatin Packet<\/li>\n<li>6 tablespoons Powdered Milk<\/li>\n<li>1 pound Shredded Cheese (we suggest a blend of Colby Jack; Cheddar and Swiss)<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-instructions\">\n<ol>\n<li>Blend 1\/4 packet powdered gelatin with powdered milk in a blender and mix until combined<\/li>\n<li>Add 1 Cup of boiling water and puree until smooth<\/li>\n<li>Immediately add the cheese to the blender and puree until completely smooth scraping down the sides of the blender with a rubber spatula.<\/li>\n<li>Transfer cheese mixture to prepared mold lined with plastic wrap, and cover.<\/li>\n<li>Chill in the refrigerator 12 hours or overnight to fully set.<\/li>\n<\/ol><\/div>\n<div class=\"wprm-fallback-recipe-notes\">\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--End WPRM Recipe--><\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s it, easy peasy homemade Velveeta cheese.
