Our son is in his mid thirties, we&#8217;ve been waiting for him to meet someone special and start his own family traditions. He&#8217;s learning how it feels to become a parent, wanting to safeguard someone you love unconditionally. These feelings and emotions are part of growing up, part of becoming a full-fledged adult.<\/p>\n<p>We aren&#8217;t the stereotypical grandparents with greying hair, rocking chairs, and pants pulled up to our waists. We&#8217;re hooked up, like the grandparents in the Xfinity commercials, in fact the kids come here because we&#8217;re so connected.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/dqCKQoOVUfo\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Our grand baby is just a few weeks old, cluster feeding as she grows, her hunger never quite <a href=\"https:\/\/dailypost.wordpress.com\/prompts\/sated\/\">sated<\/a>. Our days are spent calming the nerves of new parents, holding our little bundle so mom can catch up on much-needed sleep. We&#8217;re thrilled to help in any way we can, excited to have a new family member to love and adore. Our holiday season will once again be filled with the wonder and joy only a child can feel.<\/p>\n<p>Recently I&#8217;ve struggled with mixed emotions about becoming a grandparent. I love and adore this sweet baby girl, it&#8217;s the <a href=\"https:\/\/dailypost.wordpress.com\/prompts\/liminal\/\">liminal<\/a> feelings between youth and aging, we&#8217;re the age our parents were when my husband and I met. I&#8217;ve struggled with the closing the book on my youth, filing it away along with all the memories of the past. Time certainly passes in the blink of an eye as it seems like yesterday my parents were holding my own baby so I could catch up on my sleep.<\/p>\n<p>We aren&#8217;t curmudgeons, we&#8217;re saving that for our distant future as we hope to spend a lot of happy active years as this new generations grows into adulthood.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We&#8217;ve recently become young grandparents, or so it feels.
