All Brittanys Go To Heaven

Just a toddler
Our baby had steel blue eyes as a puppy that would captivate you.

The cutest puppy ever
He cried all the way to the truck when he had to leave all his brother & sisters.
Little did he know at the time how much he would be adored by his new family.

His coat was bright and shiny clean.
Here he is in his “teenage” era. He was a little crazy at times.
We loved his energy and zest for new things to experience.
It’s at this age where we started to really connect with him using hand signals,
single word commands, and little tricks; he obliged in exchange for treats.

Morning hike with our brittany
A brisk morning hike.
He loved going to see Gramma’s house for treats, or to run in her big fields,
and eating apples from her big trees in the backyard.

A nice day for a hike
This hike with his boy, mom & dad was at Libbys look in Bolton, Vermont.

A swimmer
Extremely athletic in water, he would swim in rivers, lakes and ponds.
Sometimes he would chop away at the water with his mouth to hydrate while swimming;
he sounded like a trolling motor.

The snow is deep
You have to make it easy, after large snow storms,
to give your dog a place to run; our guy had his own racetrack in the backyard.

Is it morning yet?
You know that look you get when you wake someone up from a perfectly good nap?
He loved sleeping at the foot our our bed in our last travel trailer camper.

I like to nap with daddy
Some cold winter mornings he would find a little space on the recliner to snuggle up with Daddy.

Snow Doggie
We didn’t know it at the time, but at 10 years old Cushings disease would make his body heat up. His desire for water, and cold blasts of snow, helped to keep his body temperature down. This led us to yell: “Look out, it’s the abominable snow doggy”

No flotation needed folks.
To make matters worse the poor guy blew out his knee, running after some game, in a dense timber area. He came limping back to me. I carried him home, we decided to have surgery, he had less than expected results. The Cushings, coupled with his bad knee soon began to take its toll.

Our two favorite boys
Our son loved him as well. He took him on hikes and even tent camping overnight.
So sorry about the loss of your dear doggie. Our pets are family for life.
Awwwww…my heart aches reading this. I’ve lost several fur babies over the years and it never gets easier.
Thank you for your kind thoughts, we are healing but will always miss our best friend.
I’m so sorry. I hope all of your pictures and your memories make you smile when you think of him.
Thank you Karen, they certainly help us remember all the wonderful things he brought into our life.
I popped over after I saw your comment on my blog. It’s nice to meet you. 🙂
My heart goes out to you. Just looking at your pictures, I feel the happiness Brittany must have brought into your lives.
It’s hard to lose them, but in memory our fur babies can continue to make us smile, laugh, and love.
Thank you for stopping in and commenting, it means a lot and we’ve missed our fur baby dearly, yet, moving forward with life as he would have wanted.
Having just been through this lost, I so empathize. I find some comfort knowing she had a wonderful and live filled life and the sadness in her eyes is gone. Big hugz. RIP little man pup.
Thank you so much, we hope we were able to give back as much love as we received.
Oh…I’m so, so sorry. 🙁 They are family and it’s so hard losing them.
We are slowly healing and certainly appreciate all the support of family and friends. They are like family and they leave a hole in your heart when they are gone.
What a lovely tribute – we lost our Taz just about a year ago. We still miss him dearly. Virtual hugs to you.
It does get easier, as time goes by, still we miss him so much as he was a huge part of our lives.
