I feel at a loss right now, I’ve had so much time away from this blog without connection, it is like meeting up with an old friend and not knowing where to start when they ask, “How’s it going?”

To make the whole process a wee bit easier for me, here is a short list of what I have done:

  • Spent a year studying, then completing my Personal Trainer certification. (I passed, happy dance for me)
  • Utilized free college courses, which assisted my PT Cert studies, with focus on nutrition.
  • While Studying nutrition I completely changed my thinking on what, how, and when I eat and not in the way you might imagine.
  • Went deep into boards that focused on fitness and nutrition to immerse myself in the environment and assist my learning.

I decided on Ace Fitness for my Personal Trainer certification, using the full package and time allotment I studied for the better part of a year to really nail down all that I felt I should know to pass the test and work with clients.

–> Now that I am a CPT, or certified personal trainer, I need to actually find and work with clients. <–

(Hint: This could be you!!)

The free college courses:  I was introduced to Coursera.org by a relative of mine who, I am sure, thought I was crazy for the nutrition experiment I started right after the first of the year, and believed I needed an intervention. Coursera doesn’t give actual college credits, but it does allow you access to college level studies which can assist in your relative knowledge base and understanding of certain topics. From there I was made aware of  Open2study.com, which is the same concept as Coursera.org but so far the layout and coursework is much more eye appealing.

My nutrition studies, personal training studies, and changing my thinking on nutrition. Soon you will see a revised edition of the micronutrient posts I have done in the past. The ironic part about the entire story is that my CPT and Coursera studies did not run parallel to what I was learning through Taubes or the other eating tools I was starting to utilize. Studying both together might have been an issue for some, luckily I was able to separate the two belief systems enough to test successfully in the SAD (Standard American Diet) while eating more of a Paleo diet; I will write more about that later.

I took and passed my Certified Personal Trainer test in late March, immediately after we left for a nice family vacation and now we are home, spring garden clean up is done, almost all of my pressing course work is over, and now I have time to get back to reading, sharing, and blogging…

I have so much to share with you that I just don’t know where to start…. So I will just jump right in…

  1. That relative may be living vicariously through your journey,…… monkey see monkey do would be a good thing here!

Congratulations on the certification! Are you planning to offer online training, as well as one on eone in person services for coaching of sorts?

  2. Could you share which PT certification you got? I’m considering one of those best personal trainer certifications but still not sure which would be the best for an entrepreneur.
