Chocolate Shakeology Date Ball Cookie

Chocolate Shakeology Date Ball Cookie

This is the Chocolate Shakeology Date Nut no bake cookies/bar that I featured earlier. It tastes like the Lara Jocalat bars..  What better way to get your kids to eat fruit and fiber..

I love the premade bars and thought I could reproduce them in my own kitchen. After playing around with these bars for a while I wanted to incorporate something new,  I thought about adding Shakeology® instead of cocoa and tried it in the next batch, that is a very good addition and I would recommend it as it add a lot of nutrition to the mix.  This is a very flexible recipe, you can add a variety of ingredients to personalize this cookie to your taste but do need the dates or plums as a base.

Chocolate Shakeology Date Ball Cookie

  • * Dates or Plums (1 cup, pitted, chopped)
  • * Walnuts (1 cup, chopped)
  • * Cocoa (dry powder, unsweetened, .25 cup (or one scoop chocolate Shakeology®))
  • * Natural peanut butter (2 tbsp)
  • * Granola (.25 cup)
  • * Banana (fresh, .5 medium (7" to 7-7/8" long))
  • * Coconut (shredded unsweetened, 3 tbsp)
  1. Place the dates, walnuts, cocoa powder, peanut butter and banana in a food processor and blend well. Add granola and pulse a few times to incorporate into the mix.
  2. Shape approximately 1 tablespoon of mix into a ball and roll in the flaked coconut (optional). Place in an airtight container and refrigerate.

I add a variety of nuts and also dried cranberries and will not always roll in coconut. I also use premade granola and most of my ingredients are organic by choice. Chocolate Shakeology® adds a tremendous amount of nutrition to this cookie, but you can experiment with Greenberry or other Shakeology flavors as well.

  1. The fact that dates are part of the ingredients used to make the date-ball cookie makes me crave for it. Hopefully the dates used are the medjool-dates.
