Sometimes things will just pop out of nowhere, when traveling, you hope to see things in time.
Fall in Vermont is a time when the moose population is on the move. When driving you need to keep your eye on things to see what is going on. There are large animals can have a huge impact if you don’t see them in time.
As a young child we really didn’t have a lot of the larger wildlife, like moose, in the state. It wasn’t until approximately twenty years ago that sightings in Vermont started happening. It is always a treat to see things like moose, turkey, and now bald eagles roaming in the wild. We do keep our eye out when traveling, often taking roads less traveled, trying to set the stage.
The odd thing about a moose sighting is that we tend to slow down in the last places that we had seen these large beasts hoping to see them again.
Still we are always prepared and keep our camera ready.
