S2G Steps to Goals, how I’m succeeding in 2014

I’ve been thinking a lot about my “Steps to Goals” (S2G) life plan for 2014, I’ve already noticed an increase on personal productivity, This makes me feel accomplished. Last year, at this time, I was furiously preparing for the Ace Fitness personal trainer certification, something I had procrastinated on for far too long.. I started my Sport and Fitness Nutrition coaching certification in September 2013,  I completed it January 5th, I did not procrastinate at all and that has a lot to do with planning my process.

Indeed, I’ve recognized that my biggest limiting factor in completion tasks is planning. Once I had the steps laid out, which I then followed, passing the certification test was a victory I claimed.. Hooray me! Now that I have both certifications, I’ll use that knowledge on myself first, then offer my services to clients.

To my readers, I will be offering coaching services to my first 5 clients free of charge as a way to ease into the process and to gain experience, please fill out the box below for details.  Nutrition coaching can be done online, fitness training is limited to my geographic area, I can create fitness and training plans for anyone outside my local area.

Using S2G I’ve decided on health habits for January and those are:

  • Reduce coffee intake to 3 cups a day
  • Drink more water
  • Increase dark vegetable consumption
  • Eat one piece of fruit daily

These are my steps for January, hopefully within a few weeks completing these steps they will become better habits.

My overall goal for the year was to complete my certification studies, which I’ve already done, and to live healthier on a daily basis. The beauty about making living healthier as a goal is that looking and feeling fit is a side effect of that behavior.  I’ve been diligent with my workouts and now have a M,W,F strength training schedule with cardio on my off days.  I’m still using HIIT training to help fuel the burn..

So far 2014 is off to a great start, what about you? If you are struggling with your goals, what steps have you laid out to help get you to your destination?
