Layne Norton on Metabolic Damage

In the last year and a half I’ve experimented with various nutritional protocols to test the procedure on myself.  With each protocol I spent time talking with a varied group of people involved, reading literature, and learning a lot of tidbits along the way.

Talking with many different groups of people

is a great way to gain insight into each nutritional style.

Lately I’ve been thinking about Video log #6, by Layne Norton of  BioLayne, it gives perspective to Layne’s thinking when working with clients preparing for competition. Layne’s approach to cutting, by first increasing intake, follows the “Eat More for Health and Fitness” seen lately in some of the more popular forums and groups.

It is refreshing to hear people talking about eating enough to fuel activity and feed the body.  Of course the foods used to increase intake are important as you still want to stay away from precooked, prepackaged, processed, or fast type foods.

Layne’s video really spoke to me about the struggle of eating less and less, becoming frustrated with feeling listless or drained, all while still struggling with weight.

Layne discusses more than under eating, but also steady state exercise vs exercise intervals. He has an interesting perspective, one which is respected and often discussed or shared..

I would love to know your thoughts relating to this video and what your experiences have been.
