Turn your favorite old jeans into a skirt

Turn your favorite old jeans into a skirt

My favorite pair of jeans sits, folded, on the top shelf of my closet. I’ve never worn a jean skirt, but might be soon in an effort to bring an old comfy pair of jeans back to life.

The best part of the jean renovation, all the ragged parts will be removed;

what’s old might be new again it seems.

I know I could make jean shorts,

this easy to follow list gives details to make a skirt.

Instructions on creating a jean skirt comes from Instructables.com. The video details the process, which seems easy enough.  The advantage of Instructables.com,  right hand column has ideas for more jean projects. How perfect is that, now you can reuse the pieces removed to create other fun items!

Okay, the skirt in the photo isn’t the most attractive, that could be due to the jeans and not the project.  I am sure that could be adjusted in some way as I don’t think the below the knee Morticia look is my style.

However nice videos are, Not Martha is even easier to follow, they only have photos with details. I like having the photo layout as there isn’t anything to pause, rewind or fast forward.

The look is more my style than the previous version, the length is a bit long but that can be adjusted. Plus the project itself seems a tad more flared, which makes walking or running, in case you come across a yeti during an afternoon forest stroll, all that much easier. (what, it could happen)

Have you done a similar project and have information to share? I have more older jeans to use up and would love to hear from you.
