The grand opening of our Night Blooming Cereus
I remember when I first noticed buds starting to develop and my heart skipped a beat due to the joy for the coming event. We moved the rather large plant indoors last Sunday, due to the approaching storm, as it was becoming obvious that the grand opening would be very soon. The buds plumped up quickly during the week, we watched in amazement as the first bloom filled the house with amazing scent.

The stems are very thick

Wow! That is so beautiful. Very exciting! I remember how excited we were when my daughter’s sunflower finally bloomed!

Sunflowers are so fun and I love how the heads move around and follow the sun, what a great growing project with your children. Glad you enjoyed it these photos.
oh my gosh, those are just stunning! I can’t believe how big they are! so will that plant be full of those flowers?
I wish they plant could be full of these blooms, instead they bloom only twice a year which is why it is such an event. This was the first time I saw the blooms on this particular plant.
