Whole Foods Documentary tour

April is Earth Month, in celebration Whole Foods is broadcasting documentaries in more than 70 cities during the month of April.  What a wonderful idea for this grocer to run these films, many people aren’t able to watch them for various reasons.  I read about the project on my newest “bookmarked favorite” site called: TreeHugger.com. (expect to see more from them here)

Here is a snippet from the article titled: Whole Foods’ “Do Something Reel” Film Festival On Tour
(Read this article for a great synopsis of each documentary, including trailers)
The Do Something Reel Film Festival offers a lineup of films about the Coal River Valley of West Virginia, the urban farms of Detroit, bee colony collapse, and changes with the school lunch program. Whole Foods’ co-CEO Walter Robb stated in the announcement: “We want to raise awareness of environmental and food issues, and support filmmakers who are creating films that inspire people to question the impact our choices have on our health, body and environment.“”

Unfortunately we do not have a Whole Foods market in our area as I would love to check out this film series.
